Latitude 10 Beach Resort
Latitude 10 is less of a resort than a series of gorgeously adorned casitas. In total, there are only five, which makes the guest count quite small. Those that stay here won't have any trouble finding the privacy and seclusion – whether it's on the beach or in their room – that is often necessary while traveling. Each casita is set amongst a flowering, tropical garden and is constructed from local wood products. All are differently arranged and uniquely decorated—some have bamboo ladders for hanging towels, while others have half-cut coconuts filled with sand and tea lights. The bathrooms are open to the sky and have large hot water showers. All casitas have porches with chairs, tables and hammocks that look out onto both forest and beach scenes. Each casita is cleaned daily and comes equipped with ceiling fans, a mini bar, and safe deposit box.
Walking along stone paths through the resort's gardens, guests will come upon the clubhouse and pool area. The clubhouse is set in a large, open-air rancho that houses the restaurant and bar. Every morning a complementary breakfast of fruit, gallo pinto, eggs, omelets, and French toast is served alongside fresh Costa Rican coffee and tropical fruit juice. The lunch and dinner menu is extensive and impressive, with food prepared by a French chef who has been living in the area for ten years.
Guests will enjoy cooling off in the resort's chemical-free, infinity-edged swimming pool, which is just beneath the restaurant. It's a great spot to unwind in the afternoon or evening while soaking up views of the Pacific Ocean. Latitude 10 also offers yoga classes in an open-air studio, as well as massages and reflexology treatments. Guests are invited to grab one of the boogie boards or snorkels and head to the ocean, or else hop on a bike and ride into town.
As Latitude 10 is relatively small, it can be rented out in its entirety for larger groups or families.
