The Mariposa Private Beach Homes' close proximity to the Pacific Ocean means that beach bumming, swimming and surfing is a cinch while staying here. In fact, one of the area's best surfing spots (a beach break that's ideal for all levels of surfers) is located directly in front of the homes. Verdant gardens frame the property and attract a range of creatures that includes birds, monkeys and butterflies.
Although every home is different in terms of size, design and setting, all share common features. All have a fully equipped kitchen, hot water bathrooms and living room. The kitchen is an especially nice ingredient, as it allows guests to shop for fresh local food and prepare it at home. The kitchens come stocked with a refrigerator, gas stove, oven, microwave, blender, and stainless steel cookware. The homes keep the heat out through a handful of measures. All have air conditioning and ceiling fans, as well as screened windows that allow cool ocean breezes to float through the home. Finally, each house has a cable TV, wireless internet, and outdoor terrace.
At 1,000 sq ft, Casa Iguana is the smallest of the homes. It has two bedrooms and one bathroom and can sleep up to five people. The bedrooms are similar in size, but one has a queen size bed and the other has two single beds. Each bedroom has its own air conditioning unit, large windows and sizeable closets. The house itself is constructed from teak and cedar wood, with a design that is spacious and warm. Casa Iguana has an outdoor gazebo to relax in and is 100 yards from the beach.
Casa Tortuga is the next largest home. Its 2,000 sq ft includes three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms, and the entire house is capable of sleeping up to eight people. The master bedroom has a king size bed, a second room has both a queen size and single bed, while the third room has two twin beds. The home is brightly colored and well lit, which gives it a sunny vibe. Outdoors is a private swimming pool and rancho where guests can cool off in the water or shade.
Casa Pelicano is a colorful 2,500 sq ft home with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The configuration of beds (two rooms have a king size bed, while the third has a bunk bed) makes it a great option for families. The living room is big and bountiful – plush, overstuffed sofas are arranged towards one another, offering up a great spot to talk or play games. The kitchen is large and framed on one side by a breakfast bar, and there is a covered outdoor terrace that's a good place to read or enjoy coffee. The small, circular swimming pool will keep guests cool and content.
Casa Yin Yang is the largest of the Mariposa homes—and the closest to the beach. It hugs the shoreline and has stellar views of the ocean and its breaking waves. Guests that are tired of the sand can relax alongside the private pool and Jacuzzi, or else spend some time on the large terrace. There is an outdoor dining room and several ranchos to shade guests from the sun. Its 4,500 sq ft include three bedrooms and 2.5 bathrooms (one of which has a massive rain shower). Two bedrooms have a king size bed and the third room has two single beds. Casa Yin Yang also has a washer/dryer, surfboards and boogie boards.
