Star Mountain Jungle Lodge
Star Mountain is a wonderful option for travelers that want a first-hand experience with nature. It's located a mile from the town and beach, a distance that allows both access and seclusion. The property is, in fact, nestled directly next to the Cabo Blanco Absolute Nature Reserve and forms one continuous stretch of forest. Guests can explore the property along trails that wind through jungle, skip across streams, and summit the tops of mountains. There are daily horseback rides – both for beginners and advanced riders – that leave in the morning and at sunset. As you trot along, be on the lookout for monkeys, anteaters, kinkajous, parrots and more.
Back at the lodge, enjoy a tasty meal from the open-air restaurant or spend some time lounging alongside the pool. The pool has an impressive waterfall and Jacuzzi and is surrounded by bright, blooming plants. Another nice feature at Star Mountain is the yoga deck. This open-air studio is set beneath a large palm rancho and has polished wood floors. Guests are invited to practice poses on their own or sign up for lessons with a yoga teacher.
There are only four rooms and one private house at Star Mountain, so guests will get both the privacy and tranquility they demand while on vacation. The rooms are all fronted with a covered porch and overlook the garden and pool area. In the distance, the rolling green hills of the Cabo Blanco valley can be seen. Each room is spacious and warmly decorated with bright colors and local artwork. All feature a private hot water bathroom, mini fridge and ceiling fan. Two rooms have a queen size bed and two have both a queen size and single bed. All beds are covered with mosquito nets.
The private house is ideal for families or groups of friends. It has one queen size bed and three single beds and can sleep up to seven people. It's close to the pool and has a porch, private hot water bathroom, mini fridge, and ceiling fans. The house also comes equipped with a cable TV and wireless internet access.
